- ➤ Chandler is celebrating the nation’s 250th with events starting at the Multicultural Festival at Dr. A.J. Chandler Park on Jan. 17 and an exhibit at the State of the City address at the Chandler Center for the Arts on Feb. 12. The events will feature historical displays and activities. Chandler Arizonan

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gila River Development, owned by the Gila River Indian Community, named Duncan Wiston its general manager on June 2. He will oversee a 3,300-acre project of commerce and leisure and work on bringing essential services (like Sacaton Market) closer to residents while building sustainable growth. Chandler Independent

- ➤ In fall 2025, Chandler-area high school sports showcased champions: Arizona College Prep won 38-21 on Sept. 18 and Chandler High made its first title-game appearance since 2021 with a 10-3 record on Sept. 25 & athletes in swimming, football and volleyball earned top honors. Chandler Independent
