- ➤ Chandler will host For Our City Day in honor of Cesar Chavez on Saturday, March 29 in downtown Chandler to revitalize the Pamela Park neighborhood from Chandler Blvd to Commonwealth Avenue and from Hamilton Street to McQueen Road; volunteers will work on yard maintenance, painting, spreading gravel, and cleaning up the area. Andres Chavez—Cesar Chavez’s grandson—will lead a community march at noon before participants gather at Folley Park at 601 E. Frye Road for a free light lunch and to view job opportunity booths as the event shifts from October to the last Saturday of March. Chandler Independent
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Chandler woman, Shelby Trischler 34, was arrested on March 21 for sending threatening letters to a home in Gilbert between March 10 and March 18—she faces five counts of stalking, five counts of threatening or intimidating and five counts of disorderly conduct—and the victims knew her. 12 News

- ➤ Earlier this month, fifty Arizona high school robotics teams competed at Desert Ridge High for a chance to qualify for the VEX World Championship in Dallas from May 6th to May 8th. Two local Chandler teams—Aurora 937X and Desert Titan 8800T—won the state titles and now look ahead to competing at worlds. Chandler Arizonan

- ➤ The City of Chandler has partnered with Mulcahy Law Firm to host a virtual HOA Academy this April that shows residents and board members how HOAs work. The four sessions will run on Wednesdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and residents must register online to get the join link (for questions contact the Neighborhood Programs Office). City of Chandler

- ➤ The LPGA Tour Ford Championship will take place this weekend at Whirlwind GC in Cattail in Chandler as defending champion Nelly Korda returns—after a break since February 9—to compete among top players. The tournament will offer $2.25 million in prize money and will start a stretch of three West Coast events in four weeks. Chandler Independent
- ➤ Diamondbacks pitcher Jordan Montgomery told reporters Tuesday that he will have Tommy John surgery after feeling elbow soreness during his last spring training appearance—he recorded a 15.00 ERA in two games. He will miss the 2025 season as a result. 12 News
