- ➤ Downtown Chandler will host its 45th Annual Easter Celebration for the Family on Friday, April 18th at Dr. A.J. Chandler Park—Stage Plaza from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Families can join free egg hunts on the 24 Karrot Trail, enter a drawing for an Easter basket prize, and enjoy carnival games, local performances and a coloring contest for children 9 or younger. - ➤ Faava, a fast-casual Mediterranean cafe, opened in the Chandler Fashion Center area on the southeast corner of Chandler Village Drive and Frye Road next to Feringhee Modern Indian Cuisine—its menu features dishes such as classic hummus with grilled chicken curry, falafel, and baklava while it operates Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Chandler Independent

- ➤ Wildlife officials say that as temperatures rise in the Valley, rattlesnakes leave their winter holes and become active from March to October—April being especially busy—so residents should watch their step and keep to marked trails to avoid bites. KTAR
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ At the Chandler Unified Governing Board meeting on March 26th, board members debated and then approved a contract with a health-education provider—after a contentious discussion sidetracked the vote momentarily. The board said it will move forward to implement the agreement soon. Chandler Independent

- ➤ The Arizona Diamondbacks and 12News announced a partnership to broadcast 10 free games starting on April 25 when the Diamondbacks host the Braves, marking the first series of games on a local network affiliate.
