- ➤ The Arizona House is close to passing a bill that will require hospitals to ask patients their citizenship status—supporters say it will curb Medicaid fraud while critics worry it could keep people from seeking emergency care as the bill now awaits a formal vote. KJZZ
- ➤ Arizona lawmakers will vote on a bill that closes a gap in the revenge porn law by covering images made with AI—Sen. J.D. Mesnard says the change is meant to protect victims of non-consensual image sharing. Critics worry the new measure may remove key privacy protections for artistic or news images as it heads to a full vote in the House. KJZZ
- ➤ The Arizona Department of Transportation said that if Congress does not extend its federal exemption, drivers of electric and other alternative fuel vehicles will follow the same rules during peak-hour HOV lane times by the end of September. The department also warned of a text scam on toll fees, noted that a bill to remove lawmaker driving protections did not receive a critical hearing, said officials are still searching for three missing women, and added that Grand Canyon visitors who break fire rules will face higher fines while road repair funding remains under review.
