ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • APS said that on Sunday night a Mylar balloon struck a power line in Chandler — cutting power for roughly 6,000 customers — and a similar incident on Saturday afternoon in Peoria left 2,700 customers without power.  12 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Chandler Museum hosts an exhibition (Radio that Rocked the Valley) that highlights Phoenix radio history with displays including vinyl records, tapes and memorabilia; it is open today through Sept. 27 with special programming on June 13 at 300 S. Chandler Village Drive.  KJZZ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Chandler Unified Governing Board approved a three-year contract with Dr. Anna Battle on March 25—she will start on July 1 as Superintendent Frank Narducci retires. Her base salary is $265,000 with additional retirement benefits.  Chandler Independent

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Sun State Builders broke ground on March 6 on Avion Square (a 39,620 sqft warehouse and office facility) at Germann and Cooper Roads near the Chandler Airpark, and it will be ready for tenants in January 2027.  Chandler Independent

  • On Sunday, Mar. 29, Hyo Joo Kim won the Ford Championship in Chandler — finishing with a 69 to secure her second straight LPGA win — beating Nelly Korda by two shots.  Chandler Independent
  • Phoenix is preparing to host the NCAA Women’s Final Four, attracting top college teams and basketball fans from across the region. Chandler residents are watching the event closely as excitement builds.  12 News
  • The Diamondbacks tried to end their three-game slide when they faced the Tigers Monday at 10:10 p.m. EDT in Phoenix; the teams planned to use Mike Soroka and Justin Verlander as their probable starters.  Chandler Independent
