CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Chandler will celebrate Jazz Appreciation Month during April with events including the Chandler Jazz Festival — April 3-6 — and live performances at local parks, libraries and community centers. Residents can enjoy free sidewalk bands downtown and special programs for kids while more concerts are scheduled across the city. City of Chandler
- ➤ The Arizona Farm and Ranch Museum held its annual Hall of Fame inductions on March 22 at the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass in Chandler—honoring seven individuals including the late Ernest W. - ➤ Chandler City Council introduced two new ordinances – one that limits transit stops to one hour when buses are not running and one that bans urban camping on public property and near schools or parks. The measures will be discussed on April 10, with the transit rule set to start on May 10 and the camping rule on July 1 if approved. City of Chandler
- ➤ Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes launched a web portal for Arizonans to report disruptions in Social Security payments—she expressed concern about reports that Elon Musk may change the Social Security Administration. KJZZ
- ➤ Chandler City Council held two work sessions on March 31 to develop the operating budget and capital improvements for fiscal year 2025-2026—reviewing forecasted revenues and expenditures to support public safety, infrastructure and neighborhood services—and will vote on the tentative adoption at its May 22 meeting.
