  • The Great Greek, a national chain of counter-service Mediterranean restaurants, recently opened a new location on the northeast corner of Alma School and Queen Creek in south Chandler next to Barro’s Pizza — its third in Arizona after outlets in Scottsdale and Gilbert.  Chandler Independent

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Last month, school resource officers at Great Hearts took part in a week-long active shooter and tactical training exercise at Lincoln Preparatory Academy in Chandler, where they practiced de-escalation, emergency response, and communication (supported by grant funding). GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Over the weekend, mylar balloons caused outages for about 6,000 in Chandler Sunday night with power restored within an hour, and APS warned residents to secure and deflate balloons to prevent contact with power lines.  KTAR
  • Drivers in the Valley are paying about a dollar more per gallon than the national average — local politicians are pitching ideas today to lower gas prices at the pump.  12 News

  • Banner Health invested $1.1 billion in Arizona communities in 2025 to boost care, research, and training — the report highlighted improvements in preventive services such as screenings and well-child visits in rural areas.  Chandler Independent
