- ➤ Chandler and the Chandler Chamber of Commerce will host a free seminar on tariffs on April 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the ASU Chandler Innovation Center (249 E. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Arizona lawmakers debated a bill that would set a clear standard for bullying in public schools; the measure passed the Senate and now awaits a final House vote. Some lawmakers, including Sen. Mitzi Epstein, argued the bill may allow minor bullying to go unaddressed and should better cover charter schools—sparking debate among state officials. Chandler Independent

- ➤ Chandler Police Officer Brian Larison was honored by City Council on March 24 for his quick action during a seven-vehicle wreck on (Feb. 18) when he and off-duty firefighter (Asa Paguia) helped rescue a wreck victim as fire broke out near her vehicle. Mayor Kevin Hartke and police leaders said his brave response likely saved her life while a cited cement-truck driver caused the crash. Chandler Independent

- ➤ Developers said the affordable housing project in Chandler for seniors and veterans has been cancelled after neighbors opposed its location near Arizona Avenue and Ocotillo Road.
