BUSINESS NEWS

  • Carvana opened its first vehicle reconditioning megasite at its ADESA auction facility at 400 N. Beck Ave. in Chandler—creating 200 new jobs—and the nearly 100-acre site will help the company deliver cars the same day to retail and wholesale buyers.  ABC 15

CRIME NEWS

  • Maricopa County officials indicted Dat Vu for offenses he reportedly committed between 2000 and 2005 (a development in the cold case investigation).  12 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Chandler is celebrating Jazz Appreciation Month with live music and performances across the city. The Charlie Smith Trio will play today at The Park at Copper Creek (5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.) and other events (including Jazz on the Move and the Young Artist Jazz Showcase) are planned for April.  Chandler Independent

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Chandler's city government invites residents and business owners to join ChandlerTalks on May 10 from 2-5 p.m. at the Chandler Center for the Arts—where a panel of experts will discuss water and housing issues while online input is accepted until June.  City of Chandler
  • Chandler officials are expected to vote on a new ordinance that may ban urban camping in public places.  12 News
  • Former Arizona Cardinals kicker Jay Feely is considering a run for Congress in Arizona’s 5th Congressional District in 2026 as Rep. Andy Biggs plans to run for governor. Feely met with officials in Washington and said he will decide after his family becomes empty nesters — he aims to serve without making politics a career.  KTAR
  • The eastbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Gilbert Road in Chandler will close at 11:30 p.m. Friday, April 11 for 60 days while crews reconstruct the ramp as part of the Loop 202 widening project. Drivers must use alternative eastbound on-ramps at Cooper or Lindsay roads — the westbound ramp will reopen by 11 p.m. Saturday, April 26.  Chandler Independent
