- ➤ Neighbors are calling for preservation of the historic Bashas’ water tower as a December 2025 city project approved its demolition for 107 new single-family homes — a developer will install an interpretive sign at the site. A petition with nearly 200 signatures shows local resistance. ABC 15

- ➤ Moka & Co., a specialty coffee shop, recently opened in downtown Chandler on the northwest corner of Buffalo Street and San Marcos Place next to Craft 64. It offers a menu featuring Yemeni, Ethiopian, matcha and latte drinks plus its spiced Jubani coffee. Chandler Independent
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Kyrene Governing Board completed the first read of new regulations for patriotic statements, student health and police interviews today. Superintendent Laura Toenjes said many rules already exist and the changes follow recommendations from the state Legislature. Chandler Independent
- ➤ On April 12, Chandler High School teacher Lori Redman was honored by the Phoenix Holocaust Association with the Shofar Zachor Award — a recognition for her engaging Holocaust class that uses discussions, survivor clips, and creative projects to help students learn about history and genocide.
