- ➤ At a meeting on April 10, Chandler City Council debated the wording of a potential $475M bond that would fund 24 projects in streets, police, fire & parks and recreation. The proposal, recommended by a citizen committee that reviewed 37 projects for a total of $728M, will be discussed at the Council's April 24 meeting and may require ballot language stating a tax increase even though current rates remain unchanged. Carine Werner sponsored a bill that requires Valley schools to report suspected sexual abuse directly to law enforcement instead of making internal investigations, following the murder of 14-year-old Emily Pike.
