- ➤ An Arizona jury found Lori Vallow Daybell guilty of conspiring to murder her estranged husband in July 2019 at her Chandler home — she planned to collect his life insurance money and marry her then-boyfriend Chad Daybell and now faces a life sentence without parole until serving at least 25 years while already serving three life sentences in Idaho. - ➤ Tom Horne, Arizona’s top education official, called the teacher shortage an emergency and warned that nearly 12,000 teachers left between October 2023 and October 2024 because salaries were too low—he plans to push legislative bills like Prop 123 to boost pay and support retention. - ➤ Gov. Katie Hobbs signed an executive order on April 22 to launch Arizona’s Reentry 2030 program, which provides job training and apprenticeships to help former inmates reintegrate into society.
