- ➤ Investigators found that pilot error was the main cause of a CH-53 crash on Feb 6th that killed five Marines, including a Chandler Marine, with night vision problems and icy weather contributing to the accident—reporters said a commanding officer approved the unsafe flight near Pine Valley. - ➤ A Marine Corps helicopter that crashed Feb. 6, 2024—killing five service members including Chandler sergeant Alec Langen—was found to have been affected by pilot error and degraded night vision goggles in unsafe icing conditions near Pine Valley. Chandler Independent

- ➤ Chandler police are investigating a suspected arson at a house near State Route 87 and Guadalupe Road after a fire on Sunday morning let six residents escape — one was treated for smoke inhalation and is now without a home — as firefighters confirmed the structure is a total loss and detectives named a person of interest. 12 News

- ➤ Bender Performing Arts is offering summer camps for kids this summer—dance instructor Shayna Petruccelli told 12News the camps will let children learn dance and performance skills. 12 News

- ➤ At its April 21 study session, the Chandler City Council honored Innovation Fair winners with Bologna Elementary School earning a $500 prize for underwater robotics and Weinberg Gifted Academy receiving $500 for its project—students from Basha, Casteel, and Hamilton high schools were also recognized.
