🎓 Education
Chandler High School 2025 graduate Emma Weiss was named one of five Arizona students to receive the Stamps Scholarship, which will provide $162,800 for her college costs at the University of Arizona and $16,000 for study abroad while she attends the W.A.
Franke Honors College. Weiss will travel to Italy next month to perform at St—Peter’s Basilica and join a festival of children’s choirs as she pursues her passion for linguistics and language preservation.
🏛️ Government
The southbound lanes of Alma School Road were closed between Sandpiper Drive and Ocotillo Road in south Chandler after a water main broke on Thursday, damaging the road.
Paving crews began repairs Friday morning and city officials provided an update Friday afternoon.
At its May 22 meeting, Chandler City Council unanimously approved enhanced cancer screening measures for firefighters—aiming to address the risks they face.
