- ➤ A child drowned in Chandler on June 29th and 11 hikers were rescued from a South Mountain trail incident the same day—officials are investigating both events. 12 News
- ➤ A 4-year-old boy died after being pulled from the Hamilton Aquatic Center near Arizona Avenue and Ocotillo Road in Chandler on Sunday night, and emergency responders said he was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved. ABC 15

- ➤ The South County Fire & Medical District is asking for public input on a bond proposal that will be on the Nov. 4 ballot to fund new emergency vehicles and equipment—comments must include the sender’s contact info and be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, July 18 at Fire Station 232 in Sun Lakes.
