Chandler Compadres Boys and Girls Club finished a $2.5 million renovation (completed on June 23) that now features a secure entry, ADA upgrades, a community conference room, and a teen center that doubled enrollment; club leaders say membership may triple after summer.

Dr. Anna Battle, the new superintendent of Chandler Unified School District, said her first task is to listen and build relationships while she plans improvements in English Language Arts scores, elective choices, and family communication ahead of the school year on July 15.

The Kyrene Elementary School District board will have two seats open after Trine Nelson retires, with five candidates vying for the positions.

Candidate Catherine Peters, who grew up in the district, aims to boost enrollment and parent input as schools adjust after closures.
