GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes joined a lawsuit on July 16 alleging that FEMA illegally ended the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities program—designed to help protect areas from natural disasters—and cut funding from a Buckeye project that would divert floodwaters, leaving Arizona with a funding gap. The lawsuit claims that losing about $9.8 million will make it hard for the state to cover safety needs. KJZZ
