- ➤ Padeland is under construction in downtown Chandler at the former LOOK Dine-In Cinemas building at 1 W. Chandler Blvd. It will offer indoor pickleball and padel courts—plus a brewery taproom, restaurant, coffee shop, coworking space and wellness options—and is expected to finish by the end of 2025. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Chandler police chased a suspect who attempted a break-in and engaged in a shooting — the suspect was killed. 12 News
- ➤ Police answered a call at a home on Frye Road and Windstream Place early Thursday and chased a man who fled in his car, rammed a patrol car, and got out with a gun near the downtown intersection—which was shut down because of his actions. KTAR
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Chandler City Council approved a $350,000 contract to handle a pigeon problem at City Hall and Chandler Center for the Arts—pigeons had caused damage with droppings and nests. The contract covers cleaning, installing drop ceilings, and using new technology to stop the birds, and it will use data to check how well the work works. KJZZ
