- ➤ Applied Materials, Inc. announced it will expand its Chandler facility and invest more than $200 million in Arizona to build a state-of-the-art facility for chip equipment components—working with Apple and Texas Instruments to strengthen the semiconductor supply chain. Chandler Independent

- ➤ Tickets are on sale now for four live music shows at Rawhide Event Center in Chandler as the series begins with a performance by Wooli on Saturday, Aug. 30 — additional shows with Svdden Death VOYD, Seven Lions and Chris Lake will follow in October and December. Chandler Independent
- ➤ SanTan Brewing Company and Huss Brewing Co. are teaming up to host the first Rocktoberfest in downtown Chandler this fall with live music, craft beer, and competitions — the two-day event will be held at Dr. A.J. Chandler Park East on Oct. 3 from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on Oct. 4 from noon to 10 p.m. with tickets discounted during August and September. KTAR

- ➤ Chandler city officials met on Aug 11 to discuss plans that aim to create affordable housing in Southside Village by converting 43 city-owned lots into up to 97 new homes.
