  • Influencer Emilie Kiser released a public statement on Thursday about her deep grief after her 3-year-old son drowned in her home backyard pool in Chandler in May—she said she will set clearer boundaries on what she shares online and thanked supporters for their compassion.  12 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Eight students from three Chandler Unified School District high schools were recognized at the Aug. 20 board meeting for their awards at the national DECA competition—each earned recognition in their category. Their achievements support career and technical education skills for future success.  Chandler Independent

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Arizona Game and Fish Department warns residents and tourists to be bear aware for Labor Day weekend outings because bears may lose their fear when they find food from humans. They advise campers to keep food sealed and away from tents and tell people to slowly back away—making themselves look larger if they see a bear.  KTAR

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The federal government spent $10 billion for a 10% stake in Intel, which runs a large chip plant at its Ocotillo campus in Chandler—former employee Alan Steinberg said the move may change U.S. chip making and affect local jobs. Local leaders and business candidates warned that the investment could set a precedent that may push companies to invest overseas.  ABC 15

  • The Arizona Cardinals unveiled new Rivalries uniforms for the 2025 season featuring a tan and maroon design with updated logos. The team will wear the new jerseys in Week 4 against Seattle and fans can purchase them from Sept. 10—adding a fresh look to team spirit.  12 News
