- ➤ Rawhide Western Town and Event Center will host Jaripeo y Baile Rawhide on Oct. 25—26 at Buck-N Rodeo Grounds in Chandler where people can enjoy Mexican rodeo competitions and live music; the event runs from 5 p.m. to midnight on Oct. 25 and from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Oct. 26. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The off-ramp from westbound Loop 202 to Alma School Road in Chandler will close for about 60 days starting at 11:30 p.m. today for reconstruction under the Loop 202 widening project—drivers should detour via Dobson Road with the ramp expected to reopen in early November. The on-ramp from Price Road onto eastbound Loop 202 will also close from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5 to 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7—construction crews will work during that time. Chandler Independent
- ➤ Chandler will host free guided tours at Chandler Municipal Airport this fall as the city offers monthly tours from September through December, with sessions available (10:30–11:30 a.m. and 2–3 p.m.) on Sept. 19, Oct. 17, Nov. 24, and Dec. 12 while space is limited to 14 guests and pre-registration is required. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Arizona Interscholastic Association now requires all fall sports athletes to complete anti-hazing, opioid, and concussion education by the end of September—winter and spring sports athletes must finish these courses before team tryouts, and credentialed media will have to pass a fingerprint check.
