  • On August 27, DPC Companies broke ground on Chandler Innovation Park at the northeast corner of Arizona Avenue and Ryan Road in the Chandler Airpark area. The 21-acre site will house three Class A industrial buildings offering about 327,776 square feet of flexible space for manufacturing and logistics—Mayor Kevin Hartke attended the event.  Chandler Independent

CULTURE NEWS

  • Chandler Contigo returns to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month with free educational and cultural events across the city from Sept 15 to Oct 15, featuring music, art, film and family programs at local venues such as public libraries and the Chandler Center for the Arts—each event highlights Mexican traditions.  City of Chandler
  • Bobby Herbeck, a Chandler High alum and Cave Creek resident, wrote the story for the first live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film that did really well in theaters in spring 1990—he went to a 35th-anniversary fan event in August to mark its success.  Chandler Independent

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Young Arizonans in the AZ Youth Climate Coalition sent a letter to APS asking for a meeting with CEO Ted Geisler to discuss the utility scrapping its zero‑carbon goal and delaying its coal phase‑out plan—actions the group says put their future at risk. An APS spokesperson said they are reviewing the request and will consider the coalition’s detailed demands—such as restoring clean energy targets and accelerating coal phase‑out efforts.  12 News

  • 12Sports' Cameron Cox and recruiting influencer Chilly have launched a new show called Dropping Dimes with Cam and Chilly, which airs weekly on the 12+ App — it covers Arizona high school football and Valley sports. Episode 3 features Liberty defensive lineman Tyler Burnstein and Chandler receiver Jai Jones as they discuss their teams' wins and upcoming matchups.  12 News
