  • KeenStack will open its new office at The Park at SanTan in Chandler, using nearly 5,000 square feet and hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15—city officials and business partners will attend as the firm expands its tech services and scales operations to support a growing client portfolio.  City of Chandler

CRIME NEWS

  • Arizona politicians voiced support for Charlie Kirk after he was shot at an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday — his condition was reported as critical at 1 p.m. — and they condemned political violence while offering prayers for his recovery and his family.  KTAR
  • People in the Valley are gathering at the Turning Point center—paying their respects to Charlie Kirk after he was shot and killed.  12 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Chandler Contigo returns with a series of educational events and cultural activities for all ages to honor National Hispanic Heritage Month from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15—supported by partners like the Chandler Public Library and the Chandler Center for the Arts. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Arizona Rep. Eli Crane attended a UFO hearing on Tuesday morning hosted by the House taskforce on government transparency where military veterans and a journalist testified about alleged encounters. He said the videos and testimony made him become a believer—prompting further calls for government disclosure.  KJZZ
  • Chandler’s Code Enforcement Resident Academy will host free sessions this fall at Downtown Chandler Library—Copper Room South at 22 S. Delaware St on Oct. 8, 15 and 22 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The program teaches residents about the city’s code enforcement process and property upkeep while offering a prize drawing for complete attendance.  City of Chandler

SPORTS NEWS

  • Firebird Motorsports Park in Chandler will host a street-legal drag racing event on September 19. Gate 3 opens at 5:30 p.m. and races start at 6:30 p.m.—the event has been a racing tradition in Arizona for over 25 years.  Chandler Independent
  • On Sept. 6, Chandler celebrated a ribbon-cutting for its new $8.5 million outdoor pickleball complex at the southeast corner of Germann Road and Pioneer Parkway, featuring 18 LED-lit courts, restrooms and practice areas—city leaders and local fans like longtime player Robert Andring attended the event. The facility will remain open daily from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.  Chandler Independent
  • Firebird Motorsports Park in Chandler will host the 41st annual NHRA Arizona Nationals from March 20-22 as part of the 2026 season, which marks the start of the NHRA's 75th anniversary celebration—adding two new tracks to the event schedule.  Chandler Independent
