- ➤ Chandler residents can enjoy a free treat on National Good Neighbor Day when they visit the Neighborhood Resources building (235 S. Arizona Street) on Friday, Sept. 26 from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., as Andy’s Custard will provide treats and a coloring sheet with neighbor tips. Chandler Independent

- ➤ Iowa State University awarded degrees to 577 students this summer, and two Chandler students earned graduate degrees – Tahera Kasfi earned a master's in dietetics while Prathamesh Tushar Prabhu earned a Ph.D. in chemical engineering. Chandler Independent
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Chandler residents have new transportation options since Thursday when the city partnered with Waymo to add self-driving robotaxi rides to its Chandler Flex service—offering $1 one-way trips for a limited time for new users with the Waymo app. Fares normally are $2 with extra charges for additional passengers and the service connects key stops including Chandler Regional Medical Center and BASIS Chandler. - ➤ On Sept. 10, the Chandler Unified Governing Board voted unanimously to choose Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates as its search firm—charged with finding a new superintendent to replace Frank Narducci when he retires next June.
