Cody Long was sentenced to 25 years in prison for firing at police during a hotel dispute in March 2024—Chandler now looks forward to local events including a Contigo festival series, a fall Code Enforcement Resident Academy, free guided tours of the Municipal Airport, an international Bible conference, a student art contest, and a Pride event later this year. These activities offer residents a range of opportunities to engage with the community in the coming weeks.

Chandler Museum will host the temporary exhibit Newest Americans from September 30 until January 18 featuring 29 portraits and interviews that capture immigrant experiences from 23 countries — text panels are in both English and Spanish.

The exhibit is free and is held at 300 S. Chandler Village Drive.

A busy Chandler Center for the Arts will close for four months next year for major renovations starting June 15 with a planned reopening on Oct.
