A Chandler nonprofit partnered with community volunteers to complete a six-week renovation of Rhinestone Ranch—an upgraded group home for 10 foster girls—after a request for matching bedding sparked the project.
The home now aims to support its residents with evidence-based programs to help them heal.
Three local churches host fall events.
Legacy Church in west Chandler holds a costume party on Nov. 1, Antioch Community Church in north Chandler hosts Harvest Fest on Oct. 30, and Desert Springs Church in south Chandler presents Fall Fest on Oct. 16.

George’s Chicken and Shrimp opened its second location at Pollock Plaza on the NW corner of Arizona Avenue and Elliot Road in north Chandler.
The restaurant, launched in Tempe in October 2024, offers a varied menu from breakfast to dinner with live vintage rhythm and blues music.
