- ➤ On Sept. 15, during a study session at council chambers, Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke said Constitution Week is incomplete without the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) as seven women in patriotic attire were honored. He said the city will soon reveal plans to celebrate America’s 250th birthday and that DAR is set to join the Parade of Lights in December. Chandler Independent
- ➤ The Chandler Museum’s Sonoran Shapes + Structures exhibit highlights how local architects used the Sonoran Desert as inspiration to design organic buildings. The exhibit opened Sept. 20 and will be on view (300 S. Chandler Village Drive) until Feb. 1. Chandler Independent

- ➤ Chandler Gilbert Community College joined a national network led by the Aspen Institute along with two other Maricopa colleges to reform programs and boost student outcomes—this three-year initiative will use virtual and in-person sessions to set goals and track progress in aligning courses with high-demand careers and transfer pathways. - ➤ Chandler announced it will add autonomous Waymo vehicles to its Flex micro-transit program during peak hours—some riders will be redirected to the Waymo app and pay $2 per ride with a temporary discount of $1 as demand increases. Chandler Arizonan
