City officials have scheduled a Senate meeting on Oct. 8, an Attorney General visit on Oct. 13, a Code Enforcement Resident Academy at the Downtown Chandler Library on Oct. 8, airport tours beginning Oct. 17, the LEAD Chandler conference and book signing on Oct. 18, a church resource fair on Oct. 19, a Spooktacular Halloween celebration on Oct. 31, and Rawhide is hosting a month-long zombie-themed event until Nov. 1 while a new strategic initiatives director was named.
Chandler Center For the Arts and Cultural Coalition will host a free Día De Los Muertos celebration Sunday, Nov.
2 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Center for the Arts — the event will include mask making, traditional dance, and a community altar, and a ticketed performance by singer Edna Vazquez will follow at 7 p.m.
The Chandler Unified School District Governing Board will discuss a contract for over $1 million to purchase semiconductor, automation & robotics classroom technology at its meeting on Wednesday, Oct.
8 at 6:30 p.m. at the district offices on West Frye Road.
Chandler Unified School District is asking voters today for a $271.5 million bond and override to fund school repairs and upgrades—such as a $40 million rebuild for Hartford Elementary and improvements to security, technology and maintenance.
The plan follows a 2024 rejection of a $487.5 million request while some community members express concerns over declining enrollment and ongoing debt.
Chandler voters will decide on two charter amendments—Proposition 410 to allow council members with eight years of service to run for mayor immediately and Proposition 411 to change how the council hires its city manager—in the Nov.
4 all-mail election. They will also vote on four bond questions totaling $475 million for public works, parks, fire, and police improvements that the city says will not raise residents’ secondary property tax rate.
Firebird Motorsports Park is hosting its annual drag racing event in Chandler on Oct.
24 and 25—this event will feature alcohol dragsters, funny cars, jet cars and bracket racing with top racers competing. Fans can look forward to a weekend filled with fast cars and close races.
