- ➤ Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes joined 22 state attorneys general in a letter to USDA secretary Brooke Rollins asking if contingency funds will cover SNAP benefits amid the government shutdown—more than 900,000 Arizonans rely on the program each month. Governor Katie Hobbs warned that if benefits are delayed this November, many families will suffer from food insecurity. KTAR
