- ➤ This week, Chandler will have many events including a car show at A.J. Chandler Park on Nov. 2, a beer festival at American Legion Post 35 on Nov. 8, a Halloween party at Dr. A.J. Chandler Park on Oct. 31, a Day of the Dead event at the arts center on Nov. 2, a mobile lab at SoHo63 on Oct. 28, and a museum event on Nov. 1 to remember Japanese Americans who were jailed in World War II — local groups also helped upgrade the food bank and expand the cultural foundation while Rep. - ➤ Chandler writer Michele Lee Sefton released her debut novel 'Jade’s Broken Bridge' on Oct 10 through her Tumbleweed Spirit Press on Amazon. The coming-of-age story set in late 1980s Arizona and Alaska is based on true events and has drawn praise for its honest look at survival—reviewers called it a powerful debut. Chandler Independent

- ➤ On Oct. 8, Assistant Superintendent Mike De La Torre presented Chandler Unified student safety data to the board—data showing fewer discipline incidents amid a loss of about 4,000 mostly younger students.
