At an Oct. 22 board meeting, the Chandler Unified Board chose a no-cost Google survey over a $4,000 HYA option for its superintendent search — the district noted that extra translations for 64 languages would have cost nearly $38,100.
Public engagement will continue through Nov. 7 — candidate interviews are set for January as the district plans for a new leader after current superintendent Frank Narducci’s departure on June 30.
Oakwood Creative Care celebrated the opening of its new Chandler campus at 2175 N.
Alma School Road in late October with a ceremony featuring Mayor Kevin Hartke and local officials. The facility focuses on memory, brain health, and caregiving with programs like an art-based day club, community center, and wellness clinic — it was funded by Arizona Complete Health and the Centene Foundation.
Chandler's '8 Second Saturdays' rodeo series will resume on Nov.
8 at Buck-N Rodeo Grounds' Rawhide Event Center+ featuring bull riding, steer riding, calf riding and mutton busting with live country music and family activities until 9 p.m., with events scheduled monthly through May.
