J. Alexander’s will open its first Arizona steakhouse at 7151 W.
Ray Road in west Chandler on Nov. 17. The restaurant will serve steaks, sushi, and desserts—operating Monday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Local author Jill Beissel debuted her novel Glitter and Gold, a treasure hunt adventure drawn from Arizona history—she said the book fills a gap in female-led mystery stories.
She will hold an event at Stacks Book Club in Oro Valley on November 22 at 7 p.m.
Vietnam veteran Alan Ramias found a box of his Army stories and used them to write his first novel, The Bridge, and later Miss Moon.
He said his brother-in-law urged him to write again — a push that brought his past to life in Chandler.
The city of Chandler announced that on Tuesday, November 11, Veterans Day will bring closures for city administrative offices, libraries, museums and arts centers while trash and recycling services will be collected.
Several pools and aquatic centers will close and only Tumbleweed Recreation Center and Chandler Tennis Center will operate on their holiday schedules—ensuring residents are informed of the service adjustments.
