COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Pine Ridge Marketplace will hold its second annual tree lighting parade on Tuesday, Nov. 25 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the shopping center—an event that marks the start of the holiday season in Chandler.  Chandler Independent
  • Memorial services for John Garza, a Tempe firefighter/paramedic who died of occupational cancer earlier this month, will be held today at Compass Christian Church at 1825 S. Alma School Road in Chandler. A procession led by Tempe Police motorcycles and three first responder trucks is expected to arrive around 9:45 a.m.—the service will feature remarks from family and friends, a video tribute, firefighter honors, the Firefighter’s Prayer, and a bell ceremony.  KTAR

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Desert Sky Mall closed after a ceiling collapse caused extensive water damage—officials said the mall will remain closed for the rest of the night.  12 News
  • Multiple areas in the Valley report flooded roads today—delaying commuters during rush hour.  12 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • At the November 12 meeting, Chandler Unified’s board partly quarreled over the superintendent search—former board member Jason Olive criticized board member Kurt Rohrs for joining a community forum set up to gather public input, and the board later regained its focus.  Chandler Independent

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Chandler City Council adopted a resolution on November 19, 2025 to extend and amend water conservation rebate programs effective January 1, 2026+the changes include lower rebate amounts for single-family and large landscape grass removal as well as adjustments to the water efficient technology rebate to cover installation costs.  City of Chandler
