- ➤ Chandler’s Parade of Lights will take place at 6:45 p.m. Dec. 6 and will feature 63 entries along a three-quarter-mile route on Arizona Avenue—preceding the Tumbleweed Tree Lighting Ceremony in Dr. A.J. Chandler Park. City special events coordinator Hermalinda Llamas said that after post-COVID years saw fewer entries, the event is expected to draw between 12,000 and 18,000 people. Chandler Arizonan

- ➤ Claim Assist Solutions, a nationwide insurance claim support firm, will open its first Arizona office at One Chandler Corporate Center — near Chandler Boulevard and McClintock Road — this month. The company will hire about 40 employees at launch and plans to add up to 400 positions in the next few years. KTAR
- ➤ Bodybar Pilates Chandler opened Nov. 12 at 2490 S. Gilbert Rd., Suite 100 in south Chandler — it replaced the former home of SHOWIT — and has been offering sessions with Pilates reformers 7 days a week. Chandler Independent

- ➤ Ashna Kalagara, a fifth-grader at New Vistas Center for Education in Chandler, was named one of 20 winners from 876 statewide entries in the AZ529 Essay Contest for her essay about becoming a cardiologist — her $529 prize was awarded at a ceremony at the State Capitol on Nov. 3rd — marking a notable achievement in the state-led contest. - ➤ Kyrene School District is planning to close six elementary and two middle schools to save $7.1 million as declining enrollment forces the district to consolidate resources. The board will review detailed operational plans and multiple scenarios at a Dec 2 meeting with a vote planned on Dec 16—while parents and educators voice their concerns about the impact on extracurriculars and special education.
