United Food Bank and Chandler Care Center host the annual Food and Toy Drive to benefit children in need this holiday season.

Community members can donate food and toys at local drop-off centers (exact locations to be confirmed).

On Dec. 6, Chandler hosted its 2025 Parade of Lights downtown where Mayor Hartke lit the Tumbleweed Tree to mark the nation’s 250th birthday with festive displays and community participation.

Officials said more holiday events are planned in the coming weeks.

Chandler public safety officials launched a social media campaign urging residents to keep an eye on water hazards during winter months — officials noted that 97 drowning-related calls have been recorded since 2015, with 20 occurring between November and February.
