- ➤ NXP Semiconductors Inc. (Nasdaq: NXPI) plans to end production of its radio power product line and close its ECHO GaN fab in Chandler by 2027 as low returns on investment and muted 5G base station deployments drove the decision. Local operations will be scaled down accordingly. ABC 15
- ➤ Johnny Rockets, an all-American burger chain from the late 1980s, will open an indoor restaurant at Chandler Fashion Center in early 2026. Franchise owner Richard 'Rip' Riva manages all six Valley locations and will serve burgers+ shakes at 3111 W. Chandler Blvd. Chandler Independent

- ➤ The Chandler Unified School District board approved a state-required mid-year budget revision on Dec. 10 by a vote of four to one; board member Kurt Rohrs voted no because he believes funds for career and technical education may be misused if students enroll in only a few courses. - ➤ Chandler City Council is reviewing a proposal for a $2 billion AI data center that would cover an area as large as seven football fields near Price and Dobson roads. Residents are already sharing opinions on the future development. 12 News
