- ➤ At its Dec. 10 meeting, the Chandler Unified School District board recognized the Perry Pumas as Arizona’s first boys beach volleyball champions; the team finished a 14-1 season and won the state title on Nov. 13, with coach Bob Mann praising their smooth transition to the new sport.
