About this event
Beyond Cultural Competency: Moving From Awareness to Humility
We all know the truth: no one ever becomes fully “culturally competent.”But we can stay humble, curious, and committed to meaningful connection, both as individual clinicians and as organizations serving diverse communities.
This 3-hour training invites you to look inward and outward. Together, we’ll peel back the layers of our own identities, explore the lived experiences of the clients we serve, and examine how our practices can stay open, responsive, and willing to grow when new cultural learning emerges.
Join Dr. Erica Tatum-Sheade, LCSW, and Ryan M. Sheade, LCSW, for Beyond Competency , a grounded, reflective workshop focused on:
• Developing cultural humility as an ongoing practice
• Understanding how cultural dynamics show up in the therapy room
• Strengthening organizational responsiveness to the communities you serve
• Building confidence in addressing cultural opportunities, not avoiding them
This course fulfills the 3-hour Cultural Competency requirement for Arizona licensees as outlined by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.
Step beyond the checkbox. Step into deeper connection, reflection, and authentic growth.
