Chandler Unified School District’s annual High School Art Showcase is open at the Vision Gallery at the Chandler Center for the Arts until Tuesday, May 13 — the exhibit displays more than 100 student artworks from local high schools and is free to the public.

Since May 1, Chandler opened a respite center at AZCEND, 345 S.

California St. and eight cooling centers that offer air conditioning, hydration, snacks and basic services to help residents cope with extreme heat. The respite center operates from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday and Sunday with extra hours during heat warnings—services provided in partnership with the Maricopa County Department of Public Health and Maricopa Association of Governments’ Heat Relief Network.
